The Dawning of Advent With Carol Barry

Join us here with Carol Barry as she invites us to enter an Advent Space of waiting,expecting and opening to the light of God. A light that speaks the promise of peace into our hearts, our lives, our world this winter season. This day offers the opportunity to prepare for the ever coming of Christ; a sacred time and space to pause, to slow down. This space is an invitation to ponder and prepare to experience anew the joy of Emmanuel-God is with us- even as we walk in the shadows and darkness of the inner,and outer paths of our winter landscape.

Carol Barry brings to her ministry a particular interest in, and use of the rich resources for spiritual living offered in the texts of Sacred Scripture,and that of the Natural World.In addition she will draw on resources from the wellspring of Poetry and The Arts.

Over the past 40 years Carol has ministered in Ireland and abroad as a Retreat Director, and Lecturer in Spirituality and Sacred Scripture. In her ministry she also draws on her training and experience in the area of Bibliodrama, Deep Talk Soul Stories and Spiritual Direction.

Out of pastoral concern for those attending, this will be the only event in the Centre on this date. Carol’s input will be interspersed with breaks to allow attendees to move around and access fresh air during periods of reflection using the space inside and outside the building.
