Enlightening the ‘Eyes of the Heart’ With Carol Barry

A January invitation – Visio Divina: Cultivating Contemplative Seeing Enlightening the “eyes of the heart”(Eph 1:17)

As we enter a new year on our life journey, Carol Barry offers a day of reflection and prayer drawing on the ancient tradition and practice of Visio Divina.

This day is an opportunity to pause, ponder, experience and consider how cultivating the prayerful practice of ‘Contemplative Seeing’, can spiritually resource us for the year ahead. Carol will lead us in wondering why we need to care for our ‘Occulata Fidei’(eyes of faith)? What does it mean to see with the ‘Eyes of the Heart’? And how do we begin, or develop this wise ancient prayer practice that we might know it’s gift in our daily life.

Carol Barry brings to her ministry a particular interest in, and use of the rich resources for spiritual living offered in the texts of Sacred Scripture, and that of the Natural World. In addition she will draw on resources from the wellspring of Poetry and The Arts.

Over the past 40 years Carol has ministered in Ireland and abroad as a Retreat Director and Lecturer in Spirituality and Sacred Scripture. In her ministry she also draws on her training and experience in the area of Bibliodrama, Deep Talk Soul Stories and Spiritual Direction.
