A picture speaks a thousand words!  John the Baptist, St Elizabeth and Mary are the principal people we meet in Advent. In this short session, we examine some paintings and sculptures depicting these personalities and discover the subtle touches which draw the viewer into a deeper understanding of the coming of Jesus and his mission.

Vivienne Keely, a Holy Faith Sister, is from Glasnevin and spent over three decades in Australia where she taught medieval history, including art and architecture, at the Catholic Institute of Sydney and St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological college. She is a published author in history, pilgrimage studies, biographer of Michael Hayes and the upcoming biography of Fr John Gowan, co-founder of the Holy Faith sisters.
