€30Finding God In The Mess This Lent
Lent is the perfect time for the seekers and searchers. What do we truly seek? And how do we find purpose in our lives? These questions lead us to wonder about the nature, not only of our existence, but also of God. Many of us hold on to an image of God waiting to love us, if only we could sort ourselves out first, if only we could be ‘good enough’.
Brendan McManus, SJ and Jim Deeds will lead us to a truer image of God, desiring our company right now and waiting to share God’s love with us and with all creation. Join Fr Brendan and Jim for a day of prayer, scripture, poetry, song and silence as we together we find God in the mess of our everyday lives and reconnect to our inherent goodness within as we do.
Brendan McManus SJ is a Jesuit priest, living in Belfast, but ministering all over Ireland, Europe and America. He has a particular interest in spirituality and is a spiritual director as well as a retreat giver and bestselling author.
Jim Deeds lives in the wounded and wonderful city of Belfast. He is a poet, author, musician and pastoral worker, working all over Ireland in parish ministry. He has a particular interest in communal discernment and finding where God is leading the groups he works with.
Brendan and Jim have co-authored two books together, Finding God in the Mess and Deeper into the Mess. Their new book, Discovering God Daily is due for publication in May 2022, with their third ‘God in the Mess’ book due in 2023. Brendan and Jim enjoy ‘hitting the road’ and leading people in prayer and contemplation, using a number of creative styles as they do.
